More About Nudge by Leonard Sweet

In my last post about Nudge I talked about some of the frustrating characteristics about this book. But first I should have mentioned some of its strengths. One of the things that stands out to me about this book is that it challenges us to begin looking for God in all facets of life. Sweet describes how to use all of our senses to sniff out God’s work in the world and join in the process. I think that is a fantastic call on people to real and true experiential discipleship. He also invites us into a more organic process of evangelism because it is not like we are starting from scratch. God is and always has been up to something and we need to better tune ourselves to see it, hear it, smell it, etc when it happens so that we can get on board. So for that I give Sweet a lot of credit. I just think he could have gotten that point across with fewer than then 750+ illustrations that litter the pages of this book.
