Judgment Day – May 21

Well, according to some today is Judgment Day. It seems the only ones who will be judged today are those who are predicting today is the day. Why do people have the burning desire to further the image that Christians are nuts? It is really all about publicity more than it is about the truth. The Bible, which they claim to have studied intensely to come up with such a date, tells us it cannot be figured out. What is more the Harold Camping made at least one previous prediction…obviously it didn’t happen then either. But he assures us that this time is for real. Well, in some time zones it is currently May 22nd.

Late To Your Own Funeral

I finally experienced someone being late to their own funeral last night. I had the priviledged of preaching the funeral for one of our older sisters in Christ. One of their family jokes was that she was late so often that she was going to be late to her own funeral. She actually wanted to be late to her own funeral. About the time I was reading a portion of her obituary they brought her into her own funeral for the rest of the service. It was really pretty funny as people figured out what was going on. I don’t think I will ever forget it. If you knew this sister you knew she loved God and was serious about her faith and her family. I just didn’t know she had such a sense of humor until the last couple of days!
